FAQ

What benefits will the Nautico District bring to Downtown Fort Lauderdale?

Developed by Cymbal DLT, the Nautico District will activate the south side of Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk with a 6-acre mixed-use development comprising of residential, hotel, multifamily and commercial components, as well as an on-site marina.

The Nautico District will also feature an expansive public green space with art installations, centered by a more than 100-year-old rain tree, and a brand new riverwalk, for all to enjoy.

Honoring Fort Lauderdale’s status as the boating capital of the world, the Nautico District will enhance the existing marina on site, consisting of 78 dry boat slips and 12 wet boat slips, while preserving its marine uses. Once built, it will also feature a yacht valet service where residents can request their boats through an app, just like a car.

Additionally, the development will bring significant improvements to the surrounding neighborhood, including off-site and civil upgrades, and the creation of hundreds of local jobs.

When will construction begin?

Construction on Phase 1 of the Nautico District, comprised of the two multifamily tower buildings, is slated to begin in 2025.

How will the historic rain tree be preserved and protected during the construction process?

The preservation and protection of the historic rain tree during the construction process is a top priority for us. We have implemented several measures to ensure its safety.

An arborist specializing in the preservation and relocation of large trees is closely monitoring the health of the raintree on a monthly basis. This includes regular watering, providing the tree with appropriate nutrients, as well as consistent pruning to rejuvenate it.

Furthermore, the raintree is fenced in and barricaded with protective concrete structures to ensure it remains unharmed throughout the development process. These comprehensive efforts underscore our commitment to maintaining the integrity and health of this historic tree during construction.

Will the district be developed in phases?

Yes, the district will be developed in several phases. The project’s first phase will comprise of one multifamily tower with 335 apartments, with a more than 100-year-old rain tree at its core, serving as the centerpiece of the development’s lushly landscaped grounds. The project’s second phase will include a multifamily tower with 345 units and waterfront retail.  The additional phases will include three branded towers consisting of hotel, condominium, multifamily and commercial uses, as well as a marina with the yacht valet service.
